Biographical Sketch:
Steven Ringelberg is the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Vanguard Integrity Professionals, the Cybersecurity Experts for large enterprises and government agencies. Ringelberg joined Vanguard in 2007 as General Counsel. Prior to being named COO of Vanguard, he also served as Vice President of Business Development, Director of International Operations, Director of Professional Services and Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. Prior to Vanguard, Ringelberg served as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel for Exstream Software, an enterprise document automation software vendor based in Lexington, KY (now an HP company); Director and General Counsel for Honkworm International, an online media company based in Seattle, Washington; Director and General Counsel for Agile Equity, a technology-focused boutique investment bank headquartered in Paris, France and New York City; and Corporate Counsel for Microsoft in Paris, France. Before joining Microsoft, Ringelberg was in private practice with Webster & Sheffield in New York City and Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle in Washington DC. He is an active educator and speaker on data privacy, information security compliance and cybersecurity for groups such as the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA); the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA); IBM SHARE; IBM Guide-Share Europe (GSE) in United Kingdom and Europe; the Canadian Federation of Security Professionals (FSP); Security Leaders Sao Paulo Brazil; Vanguard Security & Compliance; the Forum for Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST); the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA); CACS/ISRM conferences in Asia Pacific, the United States, Europe, and Latin America; InfoSec Europe in the UK; IBM Enterprise in the US; as well as other events throughout the years. Ringelberg is a member of the US Department of Homeland Security Information Technology Sector Coordinating Council (IT-SCC). In addition, he is a guest lecturer on IT security at University of Tulsa, Tandy School of Computer Science; is a member of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Technology Assessment Committee; and is a member of the College of Southern Nevada's Electronic Crime Investigation Program Advisory Committee. Ringelberg earned a BA in History from Oberlin College and a JD from New York University School of Law and is admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York and in the District of Columbia.
