Handouts
  • Good Enough? Deep Thoughts from a Simple Detective (833.6 kB)
  • Using a quote from the HBO series True Detective:  “The world needs bad men.  We keep the other bad men away from the door.” Law Enforcement Officials make a living out of other people’s misery. At times we may ask ourselves when surrounded by this misery, “Are we good enough?” We in the City of Pittsburgh’s Computer Crime Unit and other units like ours are fortunate enough to stand on the shoulders of Giants.  Those giants are you folks seated here today.  We read your white papers, we utilize your tools, and we interpret your intentions as reasonable. You create answers to questions that haven’t even been asked. This places us in a truly reactionary position in an effort to stave off such misery.
