DFSMS Exploitation of z/OS zEnterprise Data Compression

zEnterprise Data Compression (zEDC) for z/OS V2.1, a new priced optional feature of z/OS , running on zEC12 and zBC12 systems with the zEDC Express adapter, is designed to support a new data compression function. This facility is designed to provide high-performance, low-latency compression without significant CPU overhead.  The speaker will review what was presented in Anaheim with regards to QSAM/BSAM exploitation of zEDC, including configuration and validation steps as well as performance metrics and provide a brief review of what compression options are available for VSAM.
