Integrating RTC Enterprise with ChangeMan Package Management and Build

Rolling out Rational Team Concert Enterprise Edition (RTC EE) can be a daunting task. It takes a supremely organized support team with all aspects of the SDLC covered. As build and deployment are two of the most complex pieces of the puzzle, often times customers will choose to defer this function to their existing solution.

At a multinational financial institution, we've built a custom integration between RTC and ChangeMan (CMAN) in order to leverage an existing build and deploy function that has worked well for over 30 years. We used the out of the box RTC Dependency Build calling custom REXX in order to communicate with CMAN by way of XML APIs. We're able to successfully manage our source in RTC, while handing over the compile and deployment tasks to CMAN.
