15627: Governance, Risk, and Compliance in an Interconnected World

Tuesday, August 5, 2014: 1:30 PM-2:30 PM
Room 306 (David L. Lawrence Convention Center)
Speaker: Pamela J. Taylor(IBM Corporation)

We all understand the challenges of managing risk, enforcing security, and ensuring compliance with organizational policy and practice within the enterprise. But what happens when the borders of the business become blurred? When transactions and processes ooze beyond the edges of the enterprise to intersect other enterprises directly? Or engage indirectly through the public Cloud? How can we play safely in the 24x7 interconnected global economy while still protecting our organization’s own interests and safeguarding the assets that have been entrusted to us?

This session addresses the issues of governance, risk, and compliance in the increasingly complex infrastructure that enables integration across organizational boundaries, from large global enterprises to small businesses, all levels of government, or any entity automating their business interactions. We’ll discuss key concerns ranging from data protection to industry and government regulations and the types of tools necessary to automate, enforce and audit compliance.
