For decades, the mainframe has been delivering what a lot of people think of as cloud computing, but it hasn't been cloud computing according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) definition. Some mainframe customers have been delivering the NIST definition of cloud computing for years, some have only recently started, and most are just now considering it.
Who is doing cloud on System z? What are they doing? How did they do it? What are the options for your organization in 2014? In this session we will discuss some case studies of implementations of cloud on z, and the strategic and open-standards-based technologies IBM is offering for customers just getting started.
