The MVS Program will launch its activities for the week with a keynote address from Jose Castano (IBM) that should be of interest to all System z attendees. Mr. Castano will discuss industry trends and how System z is fully embracing those trends to provide solutions via technology, product, and solution architectures. The discussion will start with trends in platform and infrastructure and then extend into major industry trends covering Cloud, Big Data, Mobile, and Security. The presentation will cover platform, middleware, and applications/solutions for System z and demonstrate how the traditional strengths of the mainframe can be utilized and extended to address today's and future industry requirements.
