Handouts
  • Exploring the World of zEnterprise Hybrid: How Does it Work and What's the Point? (2.5 MB)
  • The IBM zEnterprise hybrid system introduces the Unified Resource Manager, allowing an IT shop to manage a collection of one or more zEnterprise nodes including any optionally attached BladeCenter Extensions (zBX) as a single logical virtualized system using a Hardware Management Console (HMC). For the typical mainframer, that sentence is quite a mouthful! The HMC now provides a single point of control through which data center personnel can deploy, configure, monitor, manage and maintain the integrated System z and zBX blades based on heterogeneous architectures in a unified manner. Let’s explore this new world of blades and virtual servers - how to manage them and what all this does for my shop, in this exciting session!
