The Credit Unions System for Brazil (Sicoob) is the largest credit union system in Brazil, offering banking and credit services to more than 2.5 million people. Sicoob offers the same range of financial services as any large retail bank globally, but with a crucial difference: its customers are also its owners, so the financial returns benefit their communities rather than enriching shareholders. Sicoob needed a completely new model for IT so they made a strategic decision to virtualize their Intel distributed servers to the IBM System z platform.
This session will tell the story of moving their core banking from a distributed .NET and SQL Server framework to a virtualized Linux on System z landscape running across two IBM z196 servers, and an IBM z10 server. The workload on these system consists of DB2, Java, InfoSphere DataStage and Cognos software. Today they are running more than 450 Linux Servers.
Learn how Sicoob accomplished the transformation as well as why the outcomes have included significant financial savings, improved customer satisfaction, higher availability and a growing customer base. Sicoob also built mobile computing access into these applications further improving their customer satisfaction.
