Monday, March 10, 2014: 4:30 PM-5:30 PM
Grand Ballroom Salon G (Anaheim Marriott Hotel)
Speaker: Steven Ringelberg(Vanguard Integrity Professionals)

For too long we have heard that the Mainframe is dead, and although user interfaces (Web, Mobile, etc.) have changed, this did not mean that the transaction processing moved off the Mainframe platform. Many enterprises still rely on the Mainframe because of the capabilities the platform and operating system provide. Unfortunately senior management within enterprises have put too much focus on the distributed environment, making the Mainframe invisible and with invisibility, came lack of care and feeding.

As enterprises implemented technology solutions for Identity & Access Management, Security Information Management, and Regulatory Compliance, Chief Information Security Officers have ignored the Mainframe platform as they were under the impression that the Mainframe was going away. We have seen ignorance with auditors that work with outdated checklists for the Mainframe, and Regulatory/Industry Compliance assessors who basically grant the Mainframe a pass when it comes to meeting the requirements stated. This session will provide visibility into how enterprises incorporate the Mainframe into their security architectures, operations and compliance processes to ensure that all platforms meet the stated objectives.
