There are hundreds of thousands of transactions run on IMS everyday. These transactions yield a lot of data stored in the database. What does all the data mean or tell us? More importantly, how do we analyze this large volume of data? IBM's BigInsights platform offers a data analytics solution which includes various tools such as Hive, Sqoop, Flume and the Hadoop File System. This session will provide a background to these tools and demonstrate how IMS data can imported into the BigInsights platform using the IMS Universal Drivers. It will also cover how this data can be cleaned up and analyzed by utilizing BigInsights's Big Sheets feature.
