Monday, March 10, 2014: 1:30 PM-2:30 PM
Grand Ballroom Salon B (Anaheim Marriott Hotel)
Speakers: Poonam Chitale(IBM Corporation) and Joshua Newell(IBM Corporation)

This session is for you to learn how IMS, Java and System z working together makes it easier for you to efficiently design and construct traditional mainframe applications, web applications and integrated SOA-based composites. With zEC12,  IBM has continued to make the mainframe into a Java first environment. The zEC12 has added a 45% improvement to the benchmark for multi threaded Java applications which improves transactional throughput. The IMS Universal drivers are a set of Java APIs based on industry standards which allows for wider access to IMS data. IMS working together with the IBM hardware team and JVM team has continued to exploit IBM's continued efforts to improve Java performance on its' mainframes throughout the years.
