In this lab, you'll have the choice of several automation and backup/recovery scenarios for z/VM and Linux on System z guests using IBM Operations Manager for z/VM and IBM Backup and Restore Manager for z/VM:
Operations Manger for z/VM labs include:
- Viewing and interacting with service machine and Linux guest consoles
- Taking an action based on a console message
- Customizing the display of console messages
- Monitoring user ID's for logoff status and taking an action
- Suspending and resuming monitors and rules
- Monitoring spool space
- Monitoring page space
Backup and Restore Manger for z/VM labs include:
- Perform a simple backup to disk
- Find data that has been backed up and restore it
- Create backup jobs for complex backups of minidisks, SFS filespaces, and DASD volumes
