Biographical Sketch:
In July 2013, Mr. Pat Toole joined IBM's Systems and Technology Group as the general manager for IBM System z. In that capacity, he is responsible for all facets of IBM's System z business including strategy, architecture, operations, technology development and overall financial performance. Prior to this assignment Mr. Toole was general manager, Technical Support Services, Global Technology Services. Mr. Toole's more recent previous assignments include vice president and chief information officer of IBM, and general manager of IBM Intellectual Property. Since joining IBM in 1984 Mr. Toole has held a variety of executive and management positions in technology, manufacturing, engineering, information systems, marketing, and sales. Mr. Toole is a member of the IBM performance team which as the IBM chairman, president and chief executive officer's senior team responsible for implementing IBM strategies and for driving overall business performance, and he is a member of the CEO's IBM integration and values team consisting of a broader team of leaders across the company. Mr. Toole holds a master’s degree in business administration from Queens University of Charlotte. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and serves on the university's graduate studies and research advisory council.
