14339: Building Next Generation Mainframe Data Architectures for Real-time Analytics

Thursday, August 15, 2013: 9:30 AM-10:30 AM
Room 209 (Hynes Convention Center)
Speaker: Gregg Willhoit(DataDirect Technologies)

The need for real-time intelligence is driving the development of next generation data architectures. In the past, data replication was necessary to avoid the high computational cost of on-host data access.  Advances in mainframe hardware and integration eliminate the need for replication, and now allow business critical information in non-relational databases to readily support analytics initiatives.  Explore how mainframe-resident, parallel I/O data engines exploit IBM zIIP specialty engines and Metal C for reduced TCO and accelerated information access.
