Tuesday, August 13, 2013: 4:30 PM-5:30 PM
Room 313 (Hynes Convention Center)
Speaker: Peter Relson(IBM Corporation)
Handouts
  • From Console Tracker to Generic Tracker (1.4 MB)
  • z/OS 2.1 introduces a re-engineered tracking facility, replacing the console-ID tracking facility introduced in z/OS 1.7. Over the years the Console Tracker became a general tool to help assess exploitation of old and new function on your system and to aid your migration efforts.  This use, beyond its original single purpose, pushed the Console Tracker to its limits.

The new Generic Tracker removes many limits and constraints and makes the tracking facility more flexible and easier to use.  Learn about what the new tracker adds and how basic tracking facility features are accessed now.
