Data Stewardship is Everyone's Responsibility

In a world of reaction to crises, hardware solutions give the sense of immediacy and a cure-all to data problems.  We ignore small gaps and assume the “other guy” will take care of it.  Data and its management fall into this gap.  Application, infrastructure, business continuity, and senior level management assume all is okay.  Mainframe data is vulnerable.  How do you provide assurance to your C-level management that established operational and recovery resilience is not flawed by what you have inadvertently overlooked?   Are you providing data stewardship?
