Find out how using zOSEM at CVS/Caremark simplified z/OS upgrades and user exit management. We had used zOSEM from Trident Services on other systems and were looking to simplify and understand many user exits inherited through systems acquired after they had been outsourced. We decided to roll out zOSEM to these other systems and reduce complexity. We also were looking to exploit the JES2 resource management feature as well as HSM reporting. With support from IBM and Trident we accomplished the upgrades and eliminated several problem exits. Some of these exits were in use without source code!
