Handouts
  • VIrtualization Capacity Management and Hollywood (914.8 kB)
  • Capacity Management as an integral component within an Enterprise can have its challenges.  Capacity Managers need to look at ways to acquire the buy-in for both business and technical areas.  With that in mind, how can the items that make a Hollywood film successful, assist Capacity Managers?

The main components of a successful Hollywood film are:

    • Makes you ask questions
    • Keeps your attention
    • A story is told and you can relate to it in some way
    • The ending relates to the beginning

With that in mind, this session is meant to help you achieve those objectives.  The speaker will discuss the top areas of concern for Virtualization Capacity Management, how they relate to the business, and how to introduce business metrics into the process. He will suggest a way to tell the story that enables the viewers to ask questions by paying attention to the information presented and how the outcome affects the initial scope.
