  • This is a presentation of key considerations and some currently available options to combine the data backup and recovery aspects of the Continuity Management, Service Level Management, and Capacity Management processes by taking advantage of Cloud-based infrastructure supplied by Managed Service Providers. It covers the major benefits and challenges of cloud-based backup solutions, such as data security, network bandwidth, and service level achievement; cloud-based backup architectures including remote server hosting, local server hosting, and shared hosting; considerations in vendor selection; and illustrations of existing off-the-shelf solutions. The attendee should come away with a solid grounding in the considerations attendant on the use of Managed Service Providers for Business Continuity and Disaster Preparedness.
