  • Implementing Linux on z:: User Experiences at Isracard (1.4 MB)
  • Isracard is Israel's largest credit card company. The company's core business has always run on IBM mainframes. In 2009 Isracard rolled out its first Linux on System z application and has been adding applications ever since. In 2012 Isracard acquired a dedicated z196 to replace the z10 BC due to the increasing workload, in particular Oracle DB workloads.

This presentation will describe the reasons for choosing this platform, the potholes along the road(and how we solved them) , the tools and methods used and the plans for the future.
