12461: Centralizing Console and Log Management on z/VM and zBX Virtual Servers.

Speaker: Michael Sine(IBM Corporation)

Linux on z/VM virtual servers and zBX servers are typically managed by traditional distributed methodologies.  Console and Log Management often fall into this category.  However, organizations who consolidate where appropriate or possible can realize the benefits of centralized management.  z/VM tool sets can meet or exceed the best practice recommendations of centralized console and log management providing traditional mainframe systems management practices to this more distributed solution set.  IBM's Operations Manager for z/VM as well as other IBM Event management solutions will be used as examples, but other vendor tools could be used as well.
