The IBM zEnterprise is a hybrid system that delivers heterogeneous
architectures within a unified management framework. While there
are several well understood hybrid computing models applicable to
this architecture, this presentation demonstrates how to extend
traditional z/OS batch to exploit the zEnterprise hybrid computing
environment. Several case studies are examined which implement
"z/OS Hybrid Batch" using the free Co:Z Co-Processing Toolkit. By
leveraging zManager APIs for load balancing, these workloads can
be distributed to pools of available zBX blades.
