Biographical Sketch: Greg Boyd is a Certified Information Systems Security Specialist (CISSP), and a Master Certified I/T Specialist (OpenGroup). He provides technical marketing support for the System z cryptographic hardware and software for IBM’s Advanced Technical Support organization. In that role he assists customers with installation and technical questions on the products, and regularly presents the products at conferences such as Share, zExpo and the Vanguard Enterprise Security Solutions conference. Greg has over 30 years of experience in data processing both as a Systems Programmer and in Application Development. He began his career as an MVS Systems Programmer for the National Institutes of Health and then joined IBM where he learned CICS and became a contract systems programmer providing all types of assistance with customers in the Washington, DC area. In that role, he often worked with the security infrastructure, installing ACF2 or administering RACF, depending on the customer infrastructure. He has technical leadership experience including project management and in the design and implementation of data processing solutions. In 1988 he joined IBM’s Area Systems Center in Gaithersburg where he focused on security and in 2004 joined the Washington Systems Center focusing on the cryptographic infrastructure and products that rely on that infrastructure.
