Thursday, March 15, 2012: 1:30 PM-2:30 PM
Hazelnut (Omni Hotel CNN Center)
Speaker: Glinda G. Cummings, CISSP(IBM Corporation)

In the face of growing capability and complexity, mainframe security and compliance, and validation of the same has become a significant challenge, and can represent equally significant cost to an enterprise.  We have all heard stories of thousands of hours per quarter to validate security compliance.  And, if you are trying to do it, managing the quality and effectiveness of your mainframe security implementation represents another significant layer of cost.  Likewise, security administrators (or, shall we call them Security Service and Assurance professionals) are burdened with floods of requests that are difficult to keep up with, and can be costly to assure that the requests are in compliance with policy, and properly setup in the security database.  This session presents a case for automation, and shows how automation can reduce your mainframe security administration and management costs, and improve the overall quality and effectiveness of mainframe security.
