This presentation will explain the need for very large inexpensive archives as we experience the data explosion and why tape is the best solution for these archives.  We will present and discuss the trends for all storage devices and why tape will play a key role. New cool technologies for tape both present and future will be discussed, such as new media, new heads and some of the revolutionary features build around partitioning.
