  • Mainframe SOA: Implementation Best Practices (814.8 kB)
  • Mainframe SOA is concerned with making things work, specifically manageability, reliability, security and change management.  Collectively these terms are known as "Governance.". In order to bring SOA to a mainframe environment, companies must apply Governance to any implementation of Web Services.

Mainframe SOA may begin with SOAP and XML capability, but it cannot end there. A registry is essential for discovery and reuse, and mainframe-based WS-Security standards must be implemented on the mainframe to protect sensitive data. To effectively leverage human assets, the owner of a service should be the one to publish the service. Finally, mainframe SOA should support architectural standards and have built-in policy, change, release, and workflow management.

Our speaker will enlighten us on the best practices for SOA on the mainframe including:

    • The essential components of mainframe SOA.
    • How to avoid common mainframe SOA pitfalls.
    • How to make the most of your mainframe SOA.
