  • As application programming in the computer software industry has been evolving, there is a renewed interest in bulk or batch programming.  IBM's Batch Modernization initiative has impacted many products and z/OS R13 provides a number of infrastructure supports. For example, the z/OS Batch Runtime in z/OS V1R13 provides the capability for JAVA and COBOL to fully inter-operate as single threaded 31-bit multi-language DB2 applications. Come hear how z/OS is evolving to maintain its leadership in batch processing.
