  • 9607: CICS for Java Developers and Java for System Programmers - Two Sides of the Same Coin (4.5 MB)
  • CICS V4.2 introduces a new 64-bit Java VM with exploitation of the latest z196 hardware, increasing the number of JVMs that can be used within a single CICS region and removing constraints on heap storage. The latest version of the CICS Explorer SDK used in conjunction with the JVM Server environment greatly simplifies the creation of Java programs as industry standard OSGi bundles. This session describes how both application developers and system programmers can benefit from these enhancements to the development, deployment and management of Java applications.
