  • With the explosive growth of things like MQ, CICS, and (especially) DB2/DDF, the volume of SMF data has grown from the 40GB a day we talked about 15 years ago to 400 500 or more GB or even TB of SMF data daily.  The post-processing of that data is often one of the largest and most resource intensive applications in many installations.  This session will present some ideas on reducing that process by processing only what needs to be processed while keeping what needs to be kept on varying schedules depending on the type and volume of data.
