  • Do not let the name "IBM Tivoli Directory Server" mislead you! IBM Tivoli Directory Server, is a base z/OS component, fully optimized to run on z/OS and that fully supports the LDAP V3 protocol. The directory server can be setup to allow access to RACF data, cut SMF security audit records, and encrypt sensitive data (such as passwords) with AES and DES encryption support provided by ICSF.  Further, on z/OS, the directory server leverages many z/OS specific technologies. For example, the directory server on z/OS works with WLM, Parallel Sysplex, ARM, SAF, RACF, SMF, ICSF, and DB2. It strives to live up to the reliability, scalability, and serviceability expectations that come with the System z and z/OS operation system. Since its inital release, the directory server has been updated with many new features. In this session, you will learn the major new features added since z/OS 1.11.
