Java batch is a rapidly evolving topic space. WebSphere Compute Grid V8 has been announced and it brings to the Java batch environment a host of new features and functions. In this session we'll provide a brief overview of Java batch and then explain what's in new Compute Grid V8 such as:
- Manage Java batch applications deployed to environments such as z/OS®, and CICS®.
- Call COBOL modules within a Java application
- Calendar and clock scheduling of jobs
- Integration with enterprise schedulers
- Usage reporting with SMF and DB2 records
- WLM transaction classification by job
- Job pacing and job execution throttling
- Parallel job management and dispatching
