  • Coordinated DR for IMS and DB2 (3.2 MB)
  • Leveraging Your Storage Subsystem (1.0 MB)
  • This session consists of 2 related 45-minute presentations.

The first presentation is titled "Simplify and Improve IMS Administration by Leveraging Your Storage System ".

The presentation describes storage-aware data management tools for IMS.  These tools integrate storage-based fast-replication facilities with IMS systems to provide fast and non-disruptive IMS backup and cloning solutions.   Storage-aware data management tools improve IMS backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and cloning solutions by using storage-based fast-replication facilities to copy data; saving time and host CPU and I/O resources   The session explores how storage-based fast-replication facilities offered by IBM, EMC and Hitachi storage systems can be used to backup, recover, clone and refresh IMS systems.

The second presentation is titled "Coordinated Disaster Recovery for IMS and DB2 - IMS Recovery Expert".

Are you concerned about being able to recover your business data successfully and in an acceptable amount of time for both your IMS and DB2 databases? This presentation describes storage-aware data  management tools for IMS and DB2 that integrate storage-based fast-replication facilities with IMS and DB2 systems to provide fast and non-disruptive IMS and DB2 disaster recovery solutions. We will talk about  how IMS Recovery Expert can provide a coordinated fast-replication solution to reduce costs, complexity, and time in backing up the IMS and DB2 production environment and recovering this environment at a remote site. We will provide a demonstration of how this Coordinated Disaster Recovery solution works for both for IMS and DB2.
