The High Level Assembler supports several powerful features that simplify your Assembler Language programming chores. One of the most important of these are the four forms of USING statement: ordinary, labeled, dependent, and labeled dependent.  Each form can provide greater clarity and simplicity to your programs, and make them more efficient and easier to enhance and maintain.

We will first review several useful HLASM capabilities, and then show examples of each type of USING to illustrate how you can use them to achieve greater clarity, simplicity, and efficiency in your Assembler Language programs.
