  • Session 10038 Continuity Solution Selection Methodology (421.0 kB)
  • When selecting a business continuity solution (or multiple solutions, depending upon your business requirements), you need to understand the trade-offs between availability and recoverability. They are not the same. A single component failure often does not have the same impact as a prolonged data center failure.

IT has traditionally differentiated High Availability (HA), “Standard” Availability and Disaster Recovery (DR). Different recovery tools, techniques and methodologies may exist for each. However, in the case of HA and DR, there may not be a clear-cut distinction between them.

Our speaker will discuss how to select the appropriate recovery methodology based on your availability and recoverability requirements. Not all applications and environments are equal. Our speaker will help us understand the choices, and the pros and cons of implementing business continuity solutions that bridge the potential conflicts between availability and recoverability, especially for your HA environments.
