Biographical Sketch: Alan has 29 years with IBM in mainframe software development and technical support. He recently joined the GDPS development team after over a decade with the DFSMS System Data Mover component of z/OS, developing and supporting fast replication and remote copy technologies. His specialty is XRC, where he has collaborated on the invention of Write Pacing, Dynamic Volume Compare, and Zero Suspend FlashCopy, along with several monitoring tools.
