To a z/OS newcomer developing software can be quite challenging, which is why C is an appealing language. z/OS UNIX provides a familiar environment to those accustomed to C development under UNIX or Linux, especially with Makefiles. This session will provide an overview of the facilities available to new z/OS C developers and highlight some of the differences between developing C on z/OS UNIX versus distributed UNIX. After completion, the audience should be equipped to begin development of C programs in z/OS UNIX.
