  • You have a performance issue; or do you? How do you know there is a performance problem? And where do you start? And is the correct tooling in place? When faced with performance issues, many problems come down to how to start. This presentation speaks to the performance tuning audience and covers both DB2 for LUW and DB2 for z/OS. Having the underlying political environment to allow for performance tuning is as important as solving the performance issues. Examples will be shown using DB2 Performance Expert and Query Tuner, but are used only as the tooling vehicles; any performance tool may be used with similar attributes. Along with covering tooling attributes, the presentation will also cover establishing relationships between IT groups, performance feedback mechanisms, establishing SLAs, and typical performance issues with DB2 for z/OS and DB2 for LUW.

Tracks: Application Technologies and Architectures, Applications Programming and z/OS Systems Programming
