  • This session is really 2 sessions in one. This will be a 90-minute SHARE session containing two 45-minute IMS sessions.

1: Who Maintains Your IMS Databases?

In a world where man hours are a limited resource, it is limiting to have a DBA do the same maintenance jobs day in and day out.  Let a tool take over the mundane tasks off the everyday jobs giving the DBA time to work on more challenging projects that have been put off too long.

This presentation will talk about such a tool and the ways it will help you or your DBAs to enhance their productivity.

    2: Accessing IMS from z/Linux
Many customers are taking advantage of the computing power and flexibility of running the applications in z/Linux.  If these applications need to access IMS transactions or IMS databases there is now an easy and eddicient way to do that.  This session will show you how to work this magic.

Tracks: Applications Programming, Architecture, Database Administration, Development Support, Enterprise Data Center Management and Linux Systems Management
