  • This presentation gives an overview of several key SQL functions in DB2 9 for z/OS and beyond.
    MERGE  and select from MERGE/UPDATE/DELETE will be discussed.
    ORDER BY and FETCH FIRST N ROWS clauses are allowed in subselect.
    TRUNCATE, INTERSECT/EXCEPT and FETCH continue will be covered.
    OLAP extensions for RANK, DENSE_RANK, and ROW_NUMBER will also be covered.
    New data types BIGINT, BINARY, and DECIMAL FLOAT can provide better accuracy and portability for user data. A high level overview of some of the SQL function beyond DB2 9 will be discussed.
