Securing Inter-Cloud Communication

Thursday, August 5, 2010: 9:30 AM-10:30 AM
Room 201 (Hynes Convention Center)
Speaker: Maryann Hondo, IBM (IBM Corporation)

This paper falls into the "identity and access management" category of the "Security & Privacy" track of the conference. We use the term cloud to mean services (software, platform, or infrastructure) that are delivered over the Internet to massive numbers of different customers. Our premise is that on behalf of their users, clouds will increasingly communicate with other clouds. The classic examples of this are the online photo printing service seeking to access the user’s photo storage service, or social networking service seeking access to the user’s web mail to automatically generate connections. In the future, we expect such inter-cloud connectivity to become much more commonplace.
