  • IBM has recently expanded its investment in the Business Intelligence arena. Using BI software you can more easily see relationships amongst data, to create information and improve your business decision making. With BI software, a user can:
    Set targets, see results and understand what "drives" the numbers
    Identify trends, both beneficial and potentially threatening
    Take action with a common context for decision-making within your enterprise
    Identify and analyze opportunities and threats

    Our speaker will provide us with a level set of IBM's Cognos 8 BI for Linux on System z product set, including the recent inclusion of Cognos Now!. (With the inclusion of Cognos Now!, IBM now provides a real-time monitoring solution for time-sensitive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.) He will also provide us with an overview of IBM's future plans for Business Intelligence and how IBM will incorporate their recent acquisition of SPSS to enhance the predictive analytics capabilities of IBM's BI offerings.
