To identify and access the information available to manage an OSA is not easy. How many people, in the early days, actually used OSA/SF to truly monitor their OSA; in fact how many people think they do not need to monitor their OSA?
This presentation looks at what an OSA is , how it is composed in the z/OS environment , and how it is defined. We then go on to talk a little about on MIBs, OIDs, and how the OSA it handles its MIB data , how to access that data and interpret it , how z/OS maps the OIDs to its definitions, and, finally, a little about OSAENTA tracing.
