  • The IBM zEnterprise Unified Resource Manager enables the deployment and management of the heterogeneous hardware resources of System z ensembles through a single interface that can be tied to business requirements. This session will describe the contents of an ensemble and the suites of functionality available to manage one. A sample use case scenario walk-through will be presented demonstrating the Unified Resource Manager interface for defining an ensemble and adding members to it, along with the process for creating a virtual server, assigning resources to it, and connecting it to the Intra-ensemble Data Network. An example workload definition and workload-based performance policy definition will also be covered along with sample menus for enabling available energy management functions.
