Mastering System z – Entry Level Systems Programmer Certification

Monday, August 2, 2010: 6:00 PM-7:30 PM
Room 311 (Hynes Convention Center)
Speaker: Kathy Pfeiffer (IBM Corporation)

The IBM Entry Level for z/OS System Programmer Mastery test is a worldwide-recognized, proctored exam that provides an avenue for both students and professionals to distinguish their z/OS expertise from others by testing knowledge contained in the IBM Introduction to the New Mainframe: z/OS Basics textbook. The fee to take the test is normally $95, however, the IBM Academic Initiative System z team is offering this test to you at no cost during the conference. If you were recently hired into a mainframe job (or reassigned from a distributed role) this is an opportunity to help justify your attendance at this SHARE conference.
After you complete the test, your results will be documented in a score report (provided immediately) and recorded in the IBM professional skills database. There are many benefits of the IBM System z Entry Level for z/OS System Programmer Mastery Test. The test provides:
• A reliable, valid, and fair method of assessing z/OS knowledge
• A method of building and validating the knowledge of individuals and organizations
• A recognized tool for professional development
To prepare, study the textbook at www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg246366.html and take an assessment test ($10 fee) prior to taking the actual mastery test. The test is timed (90 minutes) and multiple choice format.
