  • Many organizations still have an inventory of Xerox print jobs, but wish to move beyond the capabilities of Xerox printers to take advantage of Advanced Function Printing's open standards, enhanced capabilities, high-speed printing and error recovery. However, they find it too expensive to rework Xerox print jobs and programs. IBM Infoprint XT Extender can provide a seamless solution by automatically converting Xerox Metacode and Line Conditioned Data Stream jobs to AFP. The speaker will present an overview of XT and discuss the new functions recently implemented in the transform.

New support includes new data formats like NFS and RDW, improved conversion when some original Xerox resources are missing, DBCS font support, AFP media type support, enhanced Xerox font decryption, better return codes when used with Infoprint Server, and more.

Tracks: Architecture, Enterprise Data Center Management, Operations Support and z/OS Systems Programming
