The presentation has the intention to point to a few parameters which are a long time around and as the focus shifted from a pure SNA subarea environment to APPN/HPR/EE and SNA/IP integration environment are greatly overlooked or forgotten even they are still valid and influence VTAM's behavior and performance. Forgotten: as in not anymore in the manuals or somewhere but not in the obvious one. Overlooked: as they are active and the values were set a long time ago and not checked on a regular basis even they are performance related. In addition there will be discussed some of VTAM's new and unnoticed parameters which are sometimes hidden gems.
